SURVEY ON CROSS BRONX BRIDGES PROJECT
The Office of Representative Ocasio-Cortez worked with Governor Hochul to secure federal funding to support repair work along the Cross Bronx Expressway and increase connectivity for pedestrians and transit riders. Now, as the New York State Department of Transportation is considering next steps, we want your input.
New York State Department of Transportation is considering building additional lanes to divert traffic during construction. Long term, these lanes could be used for additional vehicular traffic, or to make dedicated bus/pedestrian lanes. Another option is to build no lanes at all, which would prolong construction by 2 years. Your feedback will help inform which option best serves the community.

Which option would you prefer?
*
Option 1A: 4-Lane Community Connector - This option keeps the current road layout and adds two lanes in each direction—one for cars and one for buses—plus a separate path for walking and biking.
Option 1B: 2-Lane Community Connector - This option keeps the road layout but limits it to one bus-only diversion lane in each direction, along with a separate walking and biking path.
Option 1C: Walking and Biking Path Community Connector - This option turns the current road space into a route just for walking and biking, with no car or bus traffic.
Option 1D: Remove Road Structure, Add Shared Walking/Biking Path Along Main Road - This option removes the diversion structure after construction and builds a shared path for walking and biking along the main road.
Option 2: No Road Structure - This option eliminates the road structure proposal entirely. This option will also increase construction by two years and may cause more traffic on nearby roads temporarily.
